Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana is grateful to Siasat Urdu Daily for creating awareness for the welfare schemes of the Govt. that are being implemented for the welfare of Minorities. Govt. of Telangana will seriously think about the constitution of BCs Commission for providing 12% reservation to Muslims. This assurance was given by Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Dy. CM of Telangana State while addressing releasing function of Siasat English Weekly which was yesterday. He further that providing 12% reservation to Muslims is certain and this progress would be completed within 5 years of TRS regime. The function of launching of Siasat English Weekly was presided over by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan. It was attended by Mr. Syed Aziz Pasha, former CPI MP of Rajya Sabha, Mr. Mohammed Farooq Husain, Congress MLC, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily, Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily and others.
Mr. Mahmood Ali told that Govt. of Telangana completed 16 months of its existence under TRS. During this period, there has been a lot of change. Confidence has been built among the Muslims which promoted communal harmony. He further told that Mr. KCR is a Muslim friendly leaders and he is well versed with Hyderabad and Muslim civilization. He is always anxious about the development of Muslims of Telangana.
Applauding the functioning of Siasat Urdu Daily, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali told that this newspaper has always reflected frankness and truthfulness. He said that there is a need to communicate Siasat English Weekly to every house. In order to reflect the issues of the youths and to provide guidance leading to their solutions, there was a need for the publication of English weekly.
Reacting on the campaign launched by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan for providing 12% reservation to Muslims, Mr. Mahmood Ali told that Mr. KCR is very serious about this issue. It was presumed that a coalition Govt. would be formed in the center after the General Elections of 2014. It was also thought that by associating TRS with the coalition Govt. in the center, amendment could be made in the IX Schedule of Constitution of India. Now that BJP led Govt. has come into power in the Center, the issue of 12% reservations for Muslims is getting delayed. Pointing out the injustices of Andhra rulers, Mr. Mahmood Ali told that they created inferiority complex among the Muslims which resulted in their backwardness.
Recollecting the services rendered by late Mr. Abid Ali Khan, founder editor of Siasat Urdu Daily and Mr. Mahboob Husain Jigar, Mr. Mahmood Ali told that the Muslims of Hyderabad had developed inferiority complex after Police Action in 1948. In order to enthuse zeal among the Muslims, the founders of Siasat Urdu Daily launched a campaign which met with great success.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that the launching of Siasat English Weekly is the first step to move forward in English Journalism. He declared that very soon Siasat institution will public Siasat English Daily also. He informed that Mr. Abid Ali Khan had laid the foundation of Siasat Urdu daily after seeing the condition of the Muslims of Hyderabad State. He instilled confidence among the Muslims that their future is brighter in India than Pakistan. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan further told that the need for the publication of English newspaper was being felt since 1980. Mr. Syed Hamid, former VC of Aligarh Muslim University had started a movement. There was a positive response for this movement but English newspaper could not published despite this zeal.
Inspired by the views expressed by the readers of English website of Siasat, this step has been taken to publish English Weekly. It is expected that it would yield positive results.
Citing the role of Siasat Urdu Daily during Telangana Movement, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that it had openly supported it. He said that Hyderabad is said to be known by Charminar, Gandipet’s water or Hyderabadi Biryani but the fact is Hyderabad is identified by the gentlemanliness of the Hyderabadis. He advised Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali to ensure professional training programs for Muslim youths.
Mentioning the journey of Siasat Urdu Daily from litho press to Multicolour offset press, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that Siasat Urdu Daily is the first Urdu newspaper which started e-paper in India. Former PM of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh had inaugurated it. He also told that the well wishers of Urdu who had started newspapers left no heirs. As a result of which many newspapers have ceased but it is the blessing of Allah (SWT) that the founder of Siasat Urdu Daily had entrusted this responsibility to me and he expected that his son, Mr. Amer Ali Khan would exhibit his talents in the field of Journalism. He declared Mr. KCR as the exponent of Hyderabad Civilization and hoped that he would resolve the issues pertaining to Minorities and the Muslims. He demanded the Govt. to allot lands for Muslim graveyard. He lamented on the backwardness of the Muslims and said that those who were the owners of gardens are selling fruits on the thelas. Those who were residing in Havelis have been forced to leave in flats.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan also mentioned the welfare activities of Siasat Urdu Daily and assured that an attempt would be made to convert Siasat English Weekly into Siasat English daily in a few years time. For this purpose a lot of investment is required. It needs at least Rs. 500 crore.
Addressing the gathering, Syed Aziz Pasha regretted that Journalism has become sensational. In such a situation, it is essential that an English newspaper like Siasat should be encourages which is based on truthfulness.
Mr. Mohammed Farooq Husain in his address told that it is essential to acquire mastery over English language in order to compete with other communities. He said that the publication of Siasat English Weekly is laudable and hope that very soon this newspaper would be transformed into a daily.
Mr. Amer Ali Khan, in his welcome address highlighted the aims and objectives of the publication of Siasat English weekly and said that there would be a change in the lifestyle of the Hyderabadis after the introduction of Metro Rail System in Hyderabad. Realizing this change, Siasat decided to publish an English weekly. It is intended to provide a platform for the youths of the community to ensure their representation in the Govt. He pointed out that the newspapers published in other languages are targeting the Muslims by publishing negative news. It is therefore essential to expose such news items and to highlight the truth.
Present on this occasion were, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily, Dr. Shahid Ali Khan, Dr. Mazheruddin Ali Khan, Dr. Sudheer Naik, Mr. Syed Abdul Wahab Qadri, Mr. Taqiuddin, Mr. Ali Masquati, Mr. Khalid Rasool Khan, Mr. Khaja Moinuddin and Mr. Ali Masquati and others. Mr. Rasheeduddin, Senior Staff Reporter of Siasat conducted the meeting. On this occasion, he remembered Mr. Ibrahim bin Abdullah Masquati and said that it was his long cherished desired that an English Daily should be published under the auspices of Siasat Urdu Daily.
