Employees are the strength of any organization. Competent employees play a very significant role in the progress of the organization and they may take it to the heights. Hence, it should be the top priority of the organization to enrich the knowledge and abilities of its employees on regular basis. In order to make this concept as reality GITAM University Hyderabad Campus has organized more than 23 workshops, Seminars, conferences at National and International level and 18 Faculty Development Programs during the last academic year (i.e. 2013-14).
Dr. Ch.Sanjay, Director, GITAM Hyderabad Campus reviewed the previous year academic activities on Monday and expressed his happiness for the achievements. He told that, the ECE, CSE and Mechanical Departments have organized 3 events at international level and 9 at national level. Remaining EIE, IT, EEE, Civil, IE and Aeronautical departments have organized 11 workshops/conferences at national level. So far, 18 faculty development programs have been organized to enhance the skills of teaching staff. About 62 guest lectures have been organized for over all development of students during the last academic year. About 89 Distinguished Scientists, Foreign delegates, Scientists from various research organizations and professors from premier organizations have visited the campus. Such as Dr. V.K.Saraswat, Ex. DG, DRDO, V.B.Gadgil, CET, L&T Metro, Prof. V.S.Rao, Director, BITS Pilani, Prof. Martin Fiddler, Staffordshire University, UK, Dr. Prabhakar Sharma, Uppsala University, Sweden and Prof. P.N.Rao, University of Northern IOWA, USA have visited to GITAM Hyderabad Campus.
“We are encouraging the faculty to publish the research papers in Technical Journals and Conferences at National and International level. During the last academic year, 220 research papers have been published from Hyderabad Campus. 28 research papers published in national level and 152 in international journals. About 40 research papers published in various national and international conferences. So far, a total of 495 research papers have been published from GITAM Hyderabad Campus during the last three years” Prof. Sanjay explained. He suggested that, the faculty should take active interest in research as well as consultancy.
