Reverted Muslim Iffath Fatima offered further Rs. 1 lakh

Siasat daily and its editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan have dedicated themselves to the service of humanity, irrespective of religion and faith. They fully enjoy the support of readers of Siasat in their philanthropic activities.

Dr. Iffath Fatima (birth name Padma Reddy) embraced Islam in 2005. She met with an accident in 2011 near Attapur following which one of her legs had to be amputated. In 2013 her other leg was also severed because the infection had spread to it too.

After the publication of tragic tale of Iffath Fatima, Siasat readers extended financial support to her. In a function held yesterday to promote national integration, Governor Uttarkhand Mr. Aziz Quraishi presented her a cheque of Rs. 1 lakh. She told that she has collected Rs. 1.5 lakh through practice however the expenditure for attaching prosthetic limbs comes to Rs. 5.68 lakh. She would be able to walk like normal people after fixing the legs.

Hopefully other readers will also come forward to extend financial help for their reverted Muslim sister.
