Revenue, Home, P R Depts top in corruption in state: AK khan

Revenue Department tops the list of Corrupt departments in the State, according to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

ACB Director-General A k Khan announced the list of most corrupt departments in the State here on Thursday. The Home department is the second highest in corruption, while the Panchayati Raj Department stood at the third place.

Khan stated that Intelligence wing would be set up in Government departments, to eradicate corruption. Highly corrupt officials would be identified in each department and they would be trapped. If necessary, raids would also be conducted in the State Secretariat, he added.

He said that cases were booked against 98 officials in the Revenue department, and against 46 officials in Home department during 2013. The ACB would concentrate on officials and staff members who are having assets disproportionate to their incomes. He said that information was gathered about persons who were indulging in highest corruption.

The DG said that inspection of check-posts would continue to curb corruption. He exuded confidence that with the cooperation of the people, they would be able to eradicate corruption. (NSS)
