TDP-TS working president A Revanth Reddy has demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao observe December 3 as Telangana Martyrs Day on the day when Srikanthachary sacrificed his life for the sake of Telangana by immolating himself at LB Nagar.
Revanth Reddy addressed a letter to the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as the latter directed the authorities to conduct the State formation on grand scale across the State. In his letter, Revanth Reddy urged the Chief Minister to construct a huge martyrs’ memorial statue in Hyderabad immediately. He also demanded that the State government construct memorial statues in all 31 districts; extend Rs.10 lakh financial assistance, government job, agriculture land, double bed room house to the families of Telangana martyrs. He also asked the government to issue orders to collect details of the families of 1,569 martyrs identified by the State government and withdraw criminal cases filed against the Telangana agitators during the movement.
He warned that the TTDP will wage movement against the government in case it failed to fulfill his demands. (NSS)
