Revanth urges Speaker to implement HC directive

Hyderabad: Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy today urged the State Assembly Speaker to take a decision on disqualification petition filed against TDP MLAs, who had switched over to the ruling party on time as directed by the Hyderabad High Court.
In a letter to the Speaker, Revanth Reddy warned that he would approach the court if he failed to take a decision before the end of the period as directed by the High Court. The High Court had directed the Speaker on September 21 to dispose off the petition within three months and that period ends on December 20. Twelve TDP MLAs, including minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav defected to the ruling TRS party. He also alleged that the Speaker has erred by allowing the merger of TDP MLAs with in ruling party without deciding the disqualification petitions pending before him.
In the letter, Revanth Reddy stated, “As Speaker, you are not only have responsibility to the country’s Constitution, but also to discharge functions as per the Constitution, failing which your action will be viewed as interfering with administration of justice. (NSS)
