TDP Telangana working president A Revanth Reddy today demanded the state government to set up  pulses (kandi) purchase centers in market yards for buying kandi.

In a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Revanth Reddy urged him to set up purchase centers for immediate buying of kandi pappu. He questioned what happened to promise of providing Rs 10,000 support price to kandi pe quintal. Believing the promise, the farmers have irrigated kandi pappu in a large scale. But they are not getting more than Rs 5050 per quintal, he said.

The TDP leader expressed concern that officers and traders have nexus and they are cheating the farmers and not purchasing kandi pappu more than Rs 6000 per qt. Demanding a probe into nexus between officials and traders, Revanth Reddy said the farmers should be provided Rs 10,000 per quintal kandi pappu and Rs 450 as bonus. (NSS)
