Hyderabad: Stating that jobless youth in the rural areas are likely to suffer irreparable loss with the scrapping of Zonal system in the State, Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy has accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of canceling the system bowing to the pressure by some corporate educational institutions in the State.
Speaking to the media after installation of TTDP legal cell at NTR Bhavan here on Saturday, Revanth Reddy took serious exception to the Chief Minister’s action in doing away with the zonal system. He also declared that his party would launch a legal battle on behalf of the unemployed youth in rural areas. He pointed out that the Zonal system came into being after the intellectuals, after a series of discussions, realized that the rural youth cannot compete with their urban counterparts in the matter of employment. With an intention to prevent injustice to the rural youth, the zonal system was introduced through Article 371D, he said, adding that new appointments and transfers were being done as per the zonal system. The TTDP leader also accused the Chief Minister of scrapping the zonal system after hasty reorganization of districts to avoid legal problems in future.
TTDP politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy asked the TTDP legal cell to keep a constant vigil against the anti-people and anti-democratic actions of the TRS government and strive to render justice to the “oppressed” people.
Earlier, TTDP leader Gandham Gurumurthy was sworn in as president of the Legal Cell along with 67 executive members in the NTR Bhavan. The meeting also observed a two-minute silence to condole the demise of Legal cell State vice-president Allauddin Ansari. National TDP official spokesperson E Peddi Reddy, Programs committee convener Buchilingam, TNTUC president BN Reddy and others were present. (NSS)
