Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari today lashed out at Telugu Desam Party leader Revanth Reddy for his remarks against the government.
Talking to press persons at Warangal after holding a meeting with local leaders and activists for a program to be attended by Chief Ministier K Chandrasekhar Rao on Oct 22, he criticised that Revanth has no self respect. His remarks are significant in the wake of reports that Revanth Reddy is reportedly switching loyalties to the Congress party and had parleys with AICC bosses in Delhi. Revanth should not make such comments belittling the government schemes, he said.
Srihari alleged that the 60 years of Congress rule had failed to develop Telangana region. The deputy chief minister flayed that the Congress is getting envious on the development programs. The congress he said is unable to digest the welfare schemes reaching to the needy and common man. He also ridiculed that even TD leaders are not aware whether their party exists in Telangana. Some leaders seems to be getting ready to join the Congress party as there is no TDP in Telangana, he said referring to Revanth Reddy. He also said that he had to switch loyalties to the TRS fold from the Telugu Desam during statehood movement. ‘As I could not work with TD chief N Chandrababu Naidu at the cost of my self respect I joined the TRS’ he said. He also said that he did so without knowing whether statehood will be achieved for Telangana.(NSS)
