Congress leader A Revanth Reddy today reiterated that the TRS government indulged in multi-crore corruption in the name of signing power supply agreements with bankrupt companies.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Revanth Reddy congratulated N Uttam Kumar Reddy for being retained as TPCC Chief for second term. He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao appointed his relatives as directors of power distribution companies instead of IAS officers. Demanding the State government to release a white paper on power purchase agreements, he alleged that Power CMD Prabhakar Rao was speaking lies on power purchases.
Stating that his party was ready for an open debate on power purchase deals, Revanth Reddy said the State government paid Rs 957 crore to a single power company with several irregularities and the officers were signing agreements at the instance of the Chief Minister. He also alleged that the Chief Minister had shunted out IAS officers Suresh Chandra and Aravind Kumar for not obeying him. He also asked the State government as to why it was not purchasing power from Andhra Pradesh government though it was ready to sell it at lower price than the government was now purchasing. (NSS)
