Revanth petitions HC seeking details of criminal cases filed against him

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Working president A. Revanth Reddy on Friday approached the Hyderabad High Court seeking details of number of criminal cases filed against him by the State police and other investigating agencies.

Revanth Reddy, in his petition, complained to the HC that the investigating agencies were not giving details of criminal cases filed against him even after he sought the details through RTI Act. He informed the court that he needed the details of criminal cases as he was going to contest in the upcoming elections.

He pointed out that as per the Election Commission rules, it is mandatory for contesting candidates to reveal all the details of criminal cases filed against them in his election affidavit. “But the investigating agencies failed to give any reply to my query,” he said in his petition. He also alleged that the State police were foisting false cases against him. The High Court listed the matter for hearing on November 6.
