Hyderabad: Telangana TDP has opposed the proposed power-point presentation by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on the Irrigation projects like re-designing on the floor of the House.
In a letter to Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary, Telangana TDP floor leader A Revanth Reddy has stated that Legislative Affairs Minister has proposed in BAC meeting on March 25 that the Chief Minister would make a power-point presentation. This is against the parliamentary practice and it will be a one-way communication and denying the Opposition members from speaking on the matter.
“There was not a single instance in Parliament or any other Assembly that a presentation was made through an electronic format”, Revanth Reddy said and urged the Speaker not to allow power-point presentation in the House. The Speaker should permit the government to give power-point presentation to any other orientation program in the committee hall of the Assembly building, but not on the floor of the House to preserve and uphold the dignity of the House, he added.
The TDP would oppose power-point presentation on the floor of the House, Revanth Reddy stated in his letter. (NSS)
