Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy today called upon party workers to face the challenges and rededicate themselves for strengthening the party in Telangana State.
Addressing party workers’ meeting in Mahbubnagar today, Revanth Reddy asked the party workers not to keep silent if anybody described TDP as an Andhra party. Launching scathing attack against the TRS government, the TDP leader said the people have given a chance to the TRS after formation of separate State. But the TRS government failed to meet the aspirations of Telangana people, he alleged.
The State government had promised double bed room houses to poor, three acre land for SCs and STs, fee reimbursement to students, 12 per cent reservation for girijans and Minorities and one government job to a youth in every family, he reminded and asked what happened to all these promises. Though previous governments spent Rs 9,000 crore on Kalwakurti, Bheema, Nettampadu and Koilsagar projects in Mahbubnagar district, the TRS government has released only Rs 390 crore during the last two-and-a-half years.
When the government was not able to construct double bed room houses for poor and not releasing funds for Arogyasri scheme and fee imbursement, how can Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao talk about constructing a new building for himself and construct a new building for Secretariat, he questioned. Revanth Reddy claimed that the TDP has 54 lakh membership which is four lakh more than American Army of 50 lakh. In Telangana, the membership of TDP is 10 lakh, he added.
The State party working president asked party workers to visit every village and hoist party flag after highlighting failures of the TRS government. TDP Mahbubnagar district president Bakkani Narasimhulu, former MLAs K Dayakar Reddy, Sita Dayakar, Erra Shekhar, party leaders Jaisree, Nageshwer Reddy and others attended the meeting. (NSS)
