Telangana TDP Working President A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday demanded that the State Government take immediate steps to help the drought affected farmers in Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons after visiting Bollampalli village of Veldanda mandal in Nagarkurnool district, Revanth Reddy said that the authorities have to provide water for irrigation to thousands of farmers in the State. He said several farmers lost their Rabi crop due to lack of coordination between the officials of agriculture, irrigation and revenue departments. He asked the government to order a probe into the reasons that led to crop failure in Nagarkurnool and other districts. He also demanded adequate compensation to affected farmers. (INN)
