Speaking to the on the Assembly premises, Revanth Reddy said though the government’s decision to construct godowns was a welcome step, civil works, contract for supplying tins and other materials worth Rs 512 crore was given to one firm owned by a person, who has close links with bigwigs in the government, the TDP MLA alleged. He also alleged that Rs 150-crore corruption took place while handing over the contracts to a single firm.
Demanding an inquiry into financial irregularities in handing over the tender, the TDP leader said the minister was trying to mislead the Assembly saying that the Opposition had welcomed the government steps for construction of godowns. But the minister failed to give answer to the question raised by Opposition about corruption in according the tender to a single firm. (NSS)
