Revanth’s bail petition adjourned to Tuesday

The Anti-Corruption Bureau here has registered an FIR against Telangana TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy, who was caught red-handed while offering Rs 50 lakh out of Rs 5 crore to nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson on Sunday night to vote for TDP-BJP candidate in the Monday’s MLCs elections.

The ACB also included Revanth Reddy’s three aides in the trap case as co-accused. While Revanth Reddy was made Accused No. 1, Sebastian Harry was made A-2, Udaysinha as A-3 and Mathews Jerusalem as A-4.

Before producing Revanth Reddy before the Special Judge on Sunday night after trap operation, the sleuths got him examined in the Osmania General Hospital. The accused was again presented before the Special Judge, who remanded him to 14 day judicial custody.

When Revanth Reddy’s defence counsels filed a petition in the Special court for granting bail, the ACB prosecutor also filed a petition in the court simultaneously seeking custody of the accused for further questioning. On the other hand, Revanth Reddy filed another petition in the court seeking special facilities.

After hearing both sides, the Special Judge adjourned Revanth’s bail petition to Tuesday. To this, the prosecution sought time to file counter against the bail petition. The defence counsels alleged that the Revanth Reddy’s trap operation was a part of political conspiracy. (NSS)
