Strongly condemning the remarks that “Hyderabad” is for “Hyderabadies”, the Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) on Friday asked MIM President Asad Uddin Owaisi as to when he is returning to Owsa in Maharashtra, his native place.
In a media statement, MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan accused MIM leader of inciting regional feelings by giving calls like “Hyderabad” is for “Hyderabadies”. “MIM leaders are yet to recover from the shock of Bangalore & Bihar Elections. Instead of realising that they were rejected by the people of Bangalore & Bihar for being secret allies of BJP and other communal forces, MIM leaders are trying to give a wrong impression that they were dumped for being non-locals. By giving a call “Hyderabad for Hyderabadies”, Asaduddin Owaisi is merely exhibiting his frustration,” he said.
Amjed Ullah Khan said that the call has also exposed the hollowness of MIM’s stand towards Seemandhra people living in city. He reminded that during Telangana agitation, MIM leaders had asked Seemandhra people to write MIM on their walls if anyone asks them to leave the city. “By saying ‘Hyderabad is for Hyderabadis’, Asaduddin Owaisi has proved that he was not honest in his call,” he said.
The MBT leader alleged that Owaisi’s have been trying to terrorise people from Seemandhra and other States who in living in Hyderabad. “By terrorising Seemandhra people, Owaisi is trying to help both BJP-TDP combine and TRS. Since MIM is an ally of TRS, Owaisi’s negative comments would push anti-TRS votes towards TDP-BJP combine while damaging the prospects of Congress party. While the move will strengthen BJP in Hyderabad, the division of anti-TRS votes between Congress and TDP-BJP combine would help TRS win the GHMC elections. Asad Uddin Owaisi has unleashed a new chapter of hate and divisive politics by issuing such a statement,” he said.
Amjed Ullah Khan reminded that Asaduddin Owaisi’s grandfather Abdul Wahed Owaisi hailed from a place in Maharashtra called Owsa. Initially, they used to be called as “Owsawis”, but Abdul Wahed twisted it to “Owaisi” by wrongly claiming that he was descendent of Hazrat Owaisi Kharni (RA).
“If people have to vote only for locals, then both Asad Uddin Owaisi and Akbar Uddin Owaisi are non-locals for Old City. Asad Uddin Owaisi lives in Hyderguda,Himayat Nagar while Akbar uddin Owaisi lives in Banjara Hills. Both of them should resign from their post or shift their residences to the Old City to continue to represent the people of Old City,” Amjed Ullah Khan said. (INN)
