Jammu [Jammu and Kashmir]: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that if Centre’s Interlocutor for the state Dineshwar Sharma is doing something good, then results will be visible and it is too early to issue him a certificate.
“If he (Dineshwar Sharma) is doing something good, results will be visible. It is too early to issue him a certificate,” Abdullah told media here.
Abdullah had on Wednesday questioned the actual role of Sharma in the state and said that there was no clarity in the latter’s mandate.
J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had yesterday described Sharma as much more empowered than the previous interlocutors for the state, and said that people can’t be forced to talk.
The National Conference leader, who is also an MLA from Beerwah constituency, said that people would not have been on roads for protest if welfare schemes had successfully been implemented in the state.
Abdullah added that people are asking for their rights, which they truly deserve.
He said the ruling alliance of Peoples Democratic Party and Bharatiya Janata Party government has failed in ruling in the state. (ANI)
