A Pakistani man desecrated Holy Quran in Bahawalpur area of Central Pakistan, as the news spreads, thousands of people assembled and dragged the accused from a police station, beat him to death and then set his body on fire, a police official said.
As per the Pakistan’s blasphemy laws, any accused of blasphemy or guilty of insulting Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) or the Holy Quran can be sentenced to death.
This time mob takes the matter into their own hands and killed the accused.
According to a report of Associated Press, Mohammed Azhar Gujar, A senior police officer, said victim seemed mentally ill. He was accused of throwing pages of the Holy Quran into the street. But as the news spreads in the deeply conservative Bahawalpur area, the mob stormed the police station where the man was being interrogated and killed him.
