Former minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Friday asked the State Government to respect the High Court orders of setting aside the appointment of V Dinesh Reddy as the Director General Of Police.
Talking to media persons at Assembly premises, Dr Shankar Rao appealed to the government to immediately replace Dinesh Reddy from the post with another official based on his seniority. He accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of bringing disrepute to the government with his controversial decisions. He said that the government would suffer a major damage if it goes to the Supreme Court over the High Court ruling on the DGP’s appointment issue.
The former minister said that he would write a letter to the Congress High Command over the Chief Minister’s style of functioning. “Because of his controversial decisions, both the party and government were losing their image among the people,” he alleged.
Dr Shankar Rao appealed to Governor E S L Narasimhan to sack Advocate General Sudarshan Reddy from his post as he has failed to argue the cases on behalf of the State Government properly. He said that the Governor should nominate another efficient person on the Advocate General’s post. (INN)
