Congress MLC MS Prabhakar demanded that the Telangana Government take immediate measures to resolve the drinking water problem being faced by people living on Hyderabad’s outskirts.
Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises here on Friday, Prabhakar said that the TRS Government was making tall claims of developing Hyderabad into an international city. However, he said that the government has completely failed to address the shortage of drinking water on the city’s outskirts. He said several localities were getting the supplies once in five days. He said huge funds meant for drinking water project on city’s outskirts were lying unspent and they would lapse in the next two years if they remain unutilised. Therefore, he demanded that the government take immediate steps to ensure adequate water supply in the localities on Hyderabad’s outskirts.
Prabhakar also demanded that the government should bring more clarity on its promise of giving three acres of land to each Dalit family. He advised that a special session of the Legislative Assembly should be convened to discuss the issue. (INN)
