Making it clear that creation of separate Telangana state was possible only if the Congress leaders from the region tendered their resignations to their positions, TRS has said that there was no use in conducting the public meeting at Nizam College Grounds on June 30 in favor of Telangana issue.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Wednesday, TRS senior member Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that nothing will happen with the meetings of the Telangana Congress leaders if they have no sincerity in their efforts. He said that the Congress leaders were conducting meetings but they were not yielding any results.
He demanded the Congress leaders including Ministers to tender their resignations to their posts immediately and then only Centre would respond on it. “If not people would not believe in Congress party leaders any further”, he said.
He questioned the Government as to what it achieved by suspending them from the House for two days. He alleged that both the ruling Congress party and the main opposition party lashed out at each other for two days. He said it was proved clearly that both the parties– the Congress and TDP– colluded with each other and suspended TRS members from the House only to run the House without uttering a word on Telangana.
He reiterated his demand that the Congress leaders from Telangana region should tender their resignation to their positions immediately if they were really sincere on Telangana issue. He made it clear that his party will not accept any special package except separate Statehood to the region. (NSS)
