Congress senior leader and MP Palvai Goverdhan Reddy today accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of going mad for speaking against bifurcation and defying the Congress Working Committee decision on Telangana statehood. Addressing a press conference at Congress Legislature Party office along with senior leader KR Amos, Palvai found fault with Kiran Reddy for trying to form a Joint Action Committee along with TD, YSRCP and others to prevent Telangana. Instead of resorting to mudslinging activity on his own party, Kiran Reddy should resign to Chief Minister Post if he failed to fall in line. Other leaders will take up the top post if he resigns, he said. No one can stall the process as the Union Cabinet is firm and the draft bill will come to Assembly next Monday from the President Pranab Mukherjee. He extended thanks to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi for taking a historic decision to carve out Telangana state from Andhra Pradesh with which a six decade long movement for the statehood has come to a peaceful conclusion. Slamming TD Chief for demanding the Center to withdraw its decision on bifurcation, he sought to know why he has given a letter to the Center in favor of Telangana. The Center and Sonia Gandhi will not go back on their promise of giving statehood to Telangana, he said. He said that some leaders were misguiding TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is now talking against the merger of his party. The Center can take TRS party into its fold and fight next elections as congress men. (NSS)
