Hyderabad: Majority of the old city residents opt for Private Hospitals even if they have to borrow money or take loans for the treatment. With the current condition of the cities Government Hospital’s and service, people are hesitant to go for a second visit in these government hospitals.
According to a door-to-door survey conducted by Helping Hand Foundation(HHF), 70% of the respondents suffering from chronic illness or disabilities have taken loans to meet their medical expenses in Private Hospitals.
One of the major reasons for opting for Private hospitals is the response of the hospital staff and availability of services at these government hospitals is not satisfactory.
Only 4% of the interviewed respondents said they visit their Area Hospitals( TS Vaidya Vidhan Parishads), close to their vicinity.
Earlier the reports of the National Family Health survey for the 2015-2016 and the Social Development Report (SDR, 2017) released by the Government noted the same findings, as reported in HansIndia.
