State government has decided to set up residential coaching centres for minorities to impart competitive exam coaching. Secretary Minority Welfare Dana Kishore by issuing GO RT 327 has ordered setting up of the centers at Kadapa, Nizamabad, and Chittoor.
The order stated that Director Centre for Educational Development of Minorities, Osmania University Dr. S A Shukoor in a letter sent to the government has told the the basic issue of minorities is educational and economic backwardness. Minorities in general and Muslims in particular face poverty and illiteracy. Since the dropout rate in minorities is very high their representation in civil services is very low. Because of this government’s special attention is required to improve the situation.
