Request to increase income limit for scholarship

Mr. Mohammed Sirajuddin, Chairman of Minorities Cell of A.P.C.C. submitted a memorandum to Mr. K. Rahman Khan, Union Minister for Minorities Affairs during his present visit to Hyderabad requesting him to increase the income limit of the parents for submission of scholarship application from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh. In his memorandum, Mr. Sirajuddin demanded for preparing separate sub-plan for minorities as is being done for SCs. and STs. He also told that State Govt. has not been releasing full budget for minorities. So far it has release only Rs. 200 crore out of the budget allocation of Rs. 1027 core. He also requested him to instruct the State Govt. to revive the welfare schemes started in 2007-2008. He complain that banks are not granting loans to the poor Muslims. He requested the Minister to arrange loans directly from Minorities Finance Corporation. He complaint that A.P. has not been represented in the appointments of several corporations in the center. Mr. Rahman Khan assured him that proper steps will be taken in this regard.
