Representation to appoint Urdu teachers by Urdu Academy

Prof. S.A. Shukoor informed that a representation has been made to the Government of AP for recruiting Urdu teachers in school on the lines of Vidya Volunteers.

A delegation of AP Urdu Forum and Mazher Education Society presented a memorandum to the Urdu Academy that scholarships pertaining to 2010 and 2011 have not yet been released. They also represented to reopen Urdu Schools run by Urdu Academy earlier. Later on, these schools were handed over to Sarva Shiksha Abhyan and ultimately they were closed down. The delegation also urged the Secretary to reintroduce Best Urdu Teacher Award, Best Urdu Student Award and Makhdoom Award. Budget is not being given for holding Urdu Conferences it should be started again.

Prof. Shukoor assured the delegation that their demands will be considered. He informed them that scholarships are being released soon. The delegation consisted Mr. Ismail-ur-Rab Ansari, Mr. Ismail Husain, Mr. SK Afzaluddin, Mr. Mohammed Faizuddin Ashrafi, Mr. Mohammed Laeeq and others.
