Reacting to the report of a Marathi newspaper according to which, there was a meeting between Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar with Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial (BJP) candidate Narendra Modi, BJP leader Captain Abhimanyu on Friday said that these reports were absolutely baseless as no such meeting had taken place. “The person of the stature of Mr. Pawar in politics has himself denied any such meeting. These reports are completely baseless,” said Abhimanyu. “As far as the BJP is concerned, they are going to contest under the supervision of Modi and as Pawar is a member of the UPA, there is no way that there could have been a meeting between them,” he said. A Marathi newspaper, Loksatta, published a report on Friday that Sharad Pawar met Bharatiya Janata Party”s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in New Delhi on January 17. Although, Sharad pawar denied any such meeting with Modi on his twitter account, “News of my meeting with Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Jan 17 appeared in a news paper is completely mischchievous, baseless and false,” Pawar had tweeted.
