Moscow: European Department for Security and Information (DESI) announced that they got intelligence information that Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, ISIS leader arrested by the joint force of Syria and Russia.
According to the press release by DESI Secretary General’s media office, Baghdadi forced to leave Mosul after the tough fight and advancements by Iraqi forces in the ISIS held provinces.
Media office also said that the further information will be disclosed after receiving confirmation.
However, Russian Foreign Ministry denied the reports. According to the report published in RUDAW, staff of the ministry’s media office told, “We are not aware of the arrest of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, caliphate of the Islamic State, and have not received any information or clarification on this regard”.
