Reports of atrocities on Muslims baseless: Chinese Ambassador

New Delhi: China has termed the reports published in western media about atrocities that are being meted out to the Uighur Muslims in China are baseless and are of a double standard.

This was stated by the Ambassador of China in New Delhi. He further told that the internal media knows that the efforts to curb terrorist activities are being taken under the policies of the United Nations and that all the legal rights of the Muslims living in China are protected.

The Ambassador further stated that it is proof of the negative approach of western media which they are adopting. It is termed as an intervention in the internal affairs of China.

The ambassador of China told that the issue of Uighur Muslims is the internal matter of China which has nothing to do with race, religious or human rights.

He mentioned that China issued five white papers since 2015 to end terrorism in Xinjiang which depicts what is happening in the province.

He mentioned that institutions of Business management and law have been set up which are not the detention camps.

No terrorist activity did take place during the past three years.

Economics development is taking place in the area.

He said that more than 90 representatives of foreign media visited the provinces most of them have high opinions about these institutions.
