Report biased, influenced and hopeless, says TTD

Hyderabad, January 08: Senior TD leader from Telangana K Srihari said that the Telangana TDP Forum ‘rejected’ the report of the Srikrishna Committee, which was ‘biased and influenced’.

No option given by Srikrishna was acceptable to the Telangana TDP, he said.

Speaking to reporters after a strategy meeting of the Telangana TDP Forum here today, Srihari said the report was ‘hopeless’. The Committee went beyond its terms of reference and touched upon various other issues, he said.

The report was influenced by Seemandhra Congress leaders, Srihari alleged. “The report insulted the 54-year-old separate Telangana movement,” he added.

The TTDPF would hold a meeting soon and decide the future course of agitation.

On the Srikrishna Committee report, Srihari said there were only two regions in the State Andhra and Telangana.

But the Committee considered three regions and put the statistics related to education and irrigation in such a manner showing Telangana was forward, he contended.

“It was ridiculous to state that there was 18 lakh acres under SRSP,” Srihari said.

Stating that the report was self-contradictory on some issues, he said it was fit to be trashed.

He reiterated their demand that a T-Bill be introduced in the Budget session of Parliament.

“Will the Telangana Congress leaders accept the report which indicated that Telangana had progressed a lot in the recent past?” Srihari questioned.

TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao too repeatedly said that the Congress would deliver Telangana.

Now, he should exert pressure on the Centre and the Congress to deliver its promise, Srihari demanded.
