Hyderabad: During the rainy season, it becomes very difficult to drain rainwater which gets accumulated inside Moazzam Jahi Market area.
In order to resolve this problem, a new pipeline is being laid for which digging work is in progress. Repair work is expected to be completed very soon.
CS inspected Charminar area for CPP works
Telangana government chief secretary Shailendra Kumar Joshi has instructed the officials to involve the residents of the Charminar area and also to coordinate with them duly taking suggestions for the overall development of the Charminar area under CPP.
The Chief Secretary along with Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, MA&UD and Bharathi Holikeri, Incharge Commissioner, GHMC and senior officials of various wings of the GHMC have accompanied to inspect the works pertaining to CPP Project in the early hours today.
The officials inspected various areas like Pathergatti, Charkaman, Chudi Bazar, Murgi Chowk, Macca Masjid, Moazzam Jahi Market and also visited the construction of hawkers zone near Musi.
While interacting with the officials the Joshi said that thousands of people from different parts of the country and other parts of the World will be visiting this historic place to upkeep the tourist spot, the works which are being taken up should be completed in the stipulated time. The works should be done with good quality materials to make the project one of its kind in the country.
Some of the constructions in between Charminar to Macca Masjid have to be shifted to some other suitable places duly taking suggestions from the residents. This project is being taken up at a cost of Rs. 35 crores and as per the directions of the Municipal Administration minister, the works are going in a very phased manner to complete the project in time. The shops near Laad Bazar should maintain properly in a systematic manner to have a clear view for which he has directed the officials to make a note of this.
Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, MA&UD has briefed about the various works which are being taken up under CPP and stated that Swachh Iconic project, NTPC is funding Rs. 9 crores for Swachh programmes.
Bharathi Holikeri, In-charge Commissioner, GHMC, Musharaf Ali, Special Officer, CPP Project & Addl. Commr., Srinivas Reddy, ZC (South), Mohan Nayak, Chief Engineer, State Road Development Corporation, Srinivas Rao, Director, CPP Project, Dathu Panth, S.E have participated in the inspection.
