Moga (Pb), December 04: The constituency-wise delimitation of police stations due to reorganisation of assembly seats will be done soon, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said here today.
In this respect a notification by the Home Department will soon be issued, he said.
Talking to reporters here, Sukhbir denied any political motive behind this.
In reply to another question, Sukhbir said Punjab police was fully prepared to meet any challenge arising out of revival of terrorism in the state.
The state government has approached the Centre for more funds for modernisation of the police force, he said.
Regarding police reforms, he claimed to ensure quick action, the Punjab police has now decided to upgrade the control rooms with ultra modern equipments.
In the first phase, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Bathinda, Patiala, Ludhiana and Mohali would be covered, he said.
