Rentachintala keeps sizzling

Hyderabad, April 09: The mercury touched 44 degrees Celsius at Rentachintala in Guntur district on Sunday, the highest in the state for the second consecutive day.

It was another hot day for most people in the Guntur district of coastal Andhra, as day temperatures peaked at many places.

Meanwhile, temperatures of more than 40 degrees Celsius were reported from Bapatla, Ongole, Tirupati, Nizamabad and Vijayawada. Hyderabad also had a hot day, recording 40.9 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological department officials said heat wave conditions would continue in many places in coastal Andhra in the next 48 hours.

“A few heat winds arrived from north India and they were centralised over coastal Andhra. Heat wave conditions will prevail over several places in the region,’’ MeT officials said.
