Renowned Singer Daler Mehndi convicted in illegal immigration case

PATIALA: Patiala Court has today convicted renowned Singer Daler Mehendi in the illegal immigration case.

Quantum of the sentence against him was pronounced as two years of jailterm says the reports coming in.

A complaint was registered in 2003 by Bakshish Singh from Punjab’s Balbehra viilage against Daler Mehndi, his brother Shamsher and other associates. The singer was taken into custody by the Punjab Police.

The complainant Bakshish had then alleged that the Mehndi brothers have duped him of Lakhs of money on the pretext of sending him abroad as a Daler Mehndi troupe member.

Soon after the case was registered, several others have also come forward with their complaints
against the two brothers, Zee news reported.
