Chairman State Minorities Commission (SMC) Mr. Abid Rasool Khan and commission members have called for a rechristening of the Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park popularly known as KBR Park after Prince Mukarram Jah Bahadur, grandson of the seventh Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan. Commission chairman Abid Rasool Khan said that a letter has been sent to Telangana chief minister (CM) K Chandrasekhar Rao and Deputy CM Mohammad Mahmood Ali, urging them to rename the park.
The commission chairman claimed that land of Nawab Mir Barkat Ali Khan was acquired under the Urban Land Ceiling Act and named after former chief minister K Brahmananda Reddy a few years ago. The property was acquired in a discriminatory fashion as the lands of other persons whose lands could have come under Urban Land Ceiling were not acquired. He further told that hundreds of properties taken under the provisions of the act were later returned to their owners.
In the light of above mentioned facts, the Commission has appealed chief Minster to recompense the damage caused to the vast land by renaming the park after Prince Mukarram Jah Bahadur. He appealed to issue orders in this connection during the month of Ramadan.
