Renaissance of Urdu expected of Urdu University

(Siasat News)Sir Syed Ahmed Khan made an attempt for the renaissance of Muslims education during his period. Maulana Azad National Urdu University is osffering higher education through the medium if Urdu. It is expected that perhaps Urdu University would be the cause of renaissance of education through Urdu medium. Prof. Faizan Mustafa, Vice Chancellor of NALSAR University of Law while delivering a lecture in Urdu University on “Right to Education Act-Challenges and Prospects”, expressed these thoughts

School of Languages, Linguistics and Indology of Maulana Azad National Urdu University organized this lecture yesterday in collaboration with Indialogue Foundation, Hyderabad under the topic “Current trends of Education”. Prof. Mohammed Miyan, Vice Chancellor of Urdu University presided over the function. Continuing his address, Prof. Faizan Mustafa said that the Right to Education Act, which approved on 1st Aprill 2009, is an important step taken by Govt. of India but merely enacting a law won’t work. A social movement and a change in the mindset are needed for this.

Prof. Mohammed Miyan, V.C. of Urdu University in his presidential address told that he had visited Turkey on behalf of Govt. of India 15 year back. He had delivered lectures in Various Universities of Ankara and Isranbul.

He appreciated the initiative taken by Mr. Nooruddin Kaparoof of Indialogue Foundation (Turkey) and Prof. Mohammed Zafaruddin, Dean, school of Languages. Dr. K. Purushotham Reddy, former Professor of Political Science, Osmania University delivered a lecture on “Education for sustainable Growth”. In his lecture, he told that Maulana Azad National Urdu University is a developing University, which is functioning to equip the poor and weaker sections with education.

Mr.Nooruddin Kaparoof (Turkey) in his lecture on “The International Educational Service Movement initiated by Turkey” told that Indialogue is an organization to promote Indo-Turkish relations in the field of peace and education. He told that its proponent is Mr. Mohammed Fathehullah Golain who has devoted his life for the cause of education in various countries. He presented the theories of Mr. Fatehullah’s Movement on Education.

Prof. Zafaruddin, Dean, school of Languages, in his welcome address told that the Govt. is serious about education. It has enhanced its budget on education. It is providing “Akash” tablet (Notebook Computer) to the students at a cheaper rate. It is also running an online training course from I.I.T. Mumbai.

The function started with the recitation of the Quran by Qari Mohammed Khalid. Prof. Abdul Moiz conducted the meeting and presented vote of thank.

The staff, students and luminaries largely attended the function from the city.
