Remnant Congress MLAs protest at Gandhi statue

Hyderabad: The Congress MLAs, led by their TPCC N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, on Thursday protested in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Assembly premises following submission of CLP merger letter to Speaker Srinivas Reddy by the defected12 Congress MLAs. They demanded that the Speaker immediately disqualify the defected MLAs forthwith.

The Congress MLAs like CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, D. Sridhar Babu, T. Jayaprakash Reddy, former minister Mohammad Ali Shabbbir took part in the agitation. They tied Black ribbons to their mouths as part of their protest program.

Addressing the media later, TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao bought the MLAs, who won on the Congress party symbol. He also alleged that the Chief Minister had got the money to buy their party MLAs from the money he earned through contractors in the State. He wanted to know from the CM as to what prompted him to take such a undemocratic step. An irate TPCC chief asked Chief Minister to shift the Assembly to his farm house instead of holding session in the city. He claimed that though they were trying to meet the Speaker since morning, he was not accessible to them, he bemoaned.
