Mumbai: The protest against CAA across the nation has taken an ugly turn with Police crackdown and anti-social elements brutal treatment towards young protestors- the future generation of this nation.
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray reacting to the police crackdown on Jamia Millia students compared the incident where hundreds have been massacred during the British era, NDTV reports.
“I am reminded of Jallianwala Bagh firing… Youth power is a bomb. Don’t ignite it,” Uddhav Thackeray said in the Maharashtra assembly today.
He criticized the ruling government led by former ally BJP over the citizenship protests and the violence on Sunday night.
While the ruling saffron party stayed mum against this police crackdown, very few had the courage to speak up against this evil, hostile treatment towards Indian citizens.
The CAA passed by the BJP party is a direct threat to Indian Muslims who are being oppressed and forced to remain silent while their rights to freedom granted by the constitution are under great threat by Hindu political leaders.
India- a nation that once bloomed as a secular, democratic country is now slowly becoming a Hindu nation while the rights granted by the constitution are on the verge of diminishing for the Minority Muslims in the country.
Police crackdown on Jamia Millia Students:
Yesterday, the Delhi Police forcibly entered the Jamia campus on Sunday after nearby protests of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act took a violent turn.
While Police claimed they entered the campus to control the situation, the truth behind their crackdown has already been exposed with these ‘protectors turned hunters’ yesterday.
Ten people have been arrested in the connection with the violence so far, it turns out none of them is a Jamia student.
Testimonies from those present on campus suggest the police targeted individuals indiscriminately, lobbing tear gas shells in a library and even attacking a cleric and a former Army man who works as a guard.
Following this incident, nationwide protests against the police crackdown have erupted across the nation on Monday.
