Abu Dhabi, August 11: There was a remarkable increase in the number of labour disputes in the first six months of this year, according to a press release from the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD).
The labour courts in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain recorded 1,461 cases in the first half of this year as compared to 882 cases during the same period last year, representing a growth of over 65 per cent, the release said.
As many as 1,277 cases were settled this year while 617 cases were settled in the first six months of last year.
The results that were achieved by the labour courts were a positive signal of the performance of courts and judicial districts, in general. This is part of the ADJD’s five-year strategic plan, the release said.
