Religious structures on roads to be relocated: HM

Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy today informed the Legislative Council that mosques, temples and other religious structures would be relocated to make the roads obstruction-free and for free flow of traffic.

Replying to a question from MLC Poola Ravinder, who wanted to know whether there was any proposal to adopt innovative methods for effective traffic management in the State, the Home Minister said mosques, temples and other religious structures, which were causing obstruction to the carriage ways need to be relocated by the GHMC after consultation with social and religious bodies. He, however, said the government would take a decision in this regard very soon.

He further said to ensure free flow of vehicular traffic without any hindrance, automated traffic challan management system, over-speeding detection and wrong side driving detection management systems are proposed to be initiated. The GHMC was also developing plans for multiple road ways at junctions and flyovers on the important roads for hassle-free traffic, the Home Minister said. (NSS)
