Hyderabad, November 17: Hyderabad city is famous for its hospitality. But the Muslim, Sikh, Christians and low caste Hindus are not able to get rented house in the so called developed areas such as Madhavpur and High Tech city.
In the first stage the house owners of posh areas talk sweetly hoping to get good rent for their house but when they come to know the religion and caste of the person they made lame excuses and get rid of him.
The house owners of Cyberabad, High Tech city, Madhavpur and surrounding areas say that they will give the house on rent only to vegetarians. Not only ordinary persons but even the dalit journalist Mallepally Lakshmaya also faced such situations where he was not given house on rent saying that the house would be given only to vegetarians. But the fact is that he didn’t get the house because he belonged to Dalit class.
Similar incident happened with the Muslim journalist Syed Mohiuddin. At first the house owner was impressed by his Telugu speaking but later when he came to know that he belonged to minority community he made excuse that they only give house to vegetarians.
Real state agent Mohammad Esa also told that his career is full of such incidents where house owners blatantly refused to give houses on rent to Muslims as well as Sikhs.
