Vijayawada, October 15: Rajagopal Foundation and the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) distributed essential commodities and utensils to about 5,000 floodaffected people in Ibrahimpatnam mandal today.
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas, who participated as chief guest, distributed sarees, clothes and utensils to flood-ravaged people and appreciated both Rajagopal Foundation and RIL for coming forward to provide assistance to them.
On the occasion, the PCC president lauded the State Government led by Chief Minister K Rosaiah for taking up rescue operations in time and averting human loss.
Praising the congress workers and leaders for participanting actively in rescue operations and coming forward to provide financial assistance to flood-affected areas, the APPC president appealed to them to continue the same spirit in the next couple of days until normalcy was restored.
Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, Reliance Gas general manager (Commercial) of Krishna district Ramana Rao, ZP chairman Kukkala Nageswara Rao, MLC Ilapuram Venkaiah, former minister Mandali Buddha Prasad, former deputy chief minister Koneru Ranga Rao and several other Congress leaders were also present.
