Mumbai, April 06: Reliance Big Entertainment Ltd, the ADA group company, will acquire 50% stake in UK’s Codemasters for an undisclosed sum.
London-based Codemasters is a leading developer and publisher of world-class video games with around $150 million in revenues in the last fiscal.
It holds franchises in cricket games, racing games, performance games and military simulations.
Reliance Big Entertainment’s gaming division, Zapak Digital Entertainment Ltd is expected to oversee the Codemasters investment. Reliance is understood to have bought this 50% stake from existing investors in Codemasters and will manage the company’s operations alongside existing investor — Balderton Capital. Balderton is a leading European venture capital firm that first invested in Codemasters in 2005.
Headquartered in Warwickshire, Codemasters has presence in Germany, France, Spain, and Benelux.
