Govt. has decided to release water from the left and right canals of Nagarjunasagar to Nalgonda District and other areas of Andhra region equally for drinking and irrigation purpose from 1st December 2012.
Mr. K.Jana Reddy Minister for Panchayat Raj informed the newsmen about this decision of the Govt. at Secretariat yesterday.
He told that a high-level meeting was convened in his chamber. Mr. P. Sudershan Reddy, K.Jana Reddy,Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Minister for Housing, Mr. G.Sukhender Reddy, M.P. Nalgonda, Mr. J.Ranga Reddy, MLA(CPI)Mr. M.Vijayender Reddy, Chairman of A.P. Central Cooperative Bank and other high officials of Dept. of Irrigation attended the meeting.
Mr. Jana Reddy told that a decision was taken to release 30 TMC water. It was also decided in the meeting to assess the quantum of water available in Nagarjunasagar and also how much water could be released.
