Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for deliberately stalling the supply of irrigation waters to Mahbubunagar district.
Talking to mediapersons at Secretariat here on Tuesday, Harish Rao alleged that Naidu is deliberately attempting to stall RDS waters ought to be supplied to the district. He ridiculed Chandrababu Naidu for focusing his two eyes on AP State alone and targeting the Telangana State post bifurcation. He also demanded that the AP Government give due share of irrigation waters to Mahbubnagar district without any further delay.
Expressing concern that the people of the district are worst sufferers with respect to irrigation waters, Harish Rao said successive governments in the united AP deliberately ignored the most backward district. “Now we will not remain mute spectators if the AP Government indulges in deceiving the people of the district”, he warned. If Naidu has any affection on Telugu people of Palamur district, he must ensure completion of RDS works and supply water to irrigate the lands in Palamur district, he demanded. He also alleged that Naidu being the CM of undivided AP had adopted Palamur district but failed to do anything for its cause. At least now, he should stop politicizing the issues instead help them get their due share of waters, he suggested. Lest the people will teach Naidu a fitting lesson, he warned. (NSS)
