Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said that there was no proposal with the State Government to release life prisoners on the occasion of formation of new State.
Replying to a question raised by MLAs R Ravindra Kumar and DS Redya Naik, the Home Minister, however, said that the government was in receipt of representations to release the life prisoners who completed remission period of five years, prisoners suffering with prolonged illness and the old aged prisoners. He said those representations are under consideration of the government.
