Panchayat Raj Minister, Jupally Krishna Rao today said that 15000 acres under Jurala project in the previous Palamur district will be irrigated. He held a meeting with irrigation officials at Secretariat here along with State Planning Commission vice president S Niranjan Reddy and irrigation officials.
The minister explained about the need for releasing waters towards irrigation in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district. He asked the officials to see that the crops get waters for three days under Jurala project. The crops will be lost if the waters are not released from tomorrow, Rao said. The minister also said that 15000 acres in Kollapur, Wanaparty and Maktal segments will benefit. The officials agreed to release waters for three days from Jan 19 from Jurala to Bheema 2 project for the purpose, he said.(NSS)
