Hyderabad, October 28: State government does not intend to release good conduct prisoners on the occasion of Andhra Pradesh formation day on November 1. However it will definitely consider releasing prisoners on the basis of good conduct on the occasion of republic day on January 26 next year.
Home minister Mrs P Sabitha Indira Reddy revealed this during an informal talk with newspersons and said ‘a new issue may arise if good conduct prisoners are released in present situation of the state.’
On the question of withdrawal of Telangana agitation cases against students Mrs Reddy said that state government is serious about the withdrawing Telangana agitation and United Andhra movement cases and 425 cases have been reviewed so far in this regard and considering the seriousness of the cases, measures will be taken shortly to withdraw cases against students.
