Former constable Shalibanda police station, Abdul Qadeer took an emotional step on December 12, 1990, not in his personal interest, but in the interest of nation, and he has endured punishment for that. 22 valuable years of his life were wasted behind bars, during which he suffered severe atrocities. Due to various illnesses he is suffering from, he spent one month in jail hospital but when the illness got intensified, he was shifted to Gandhi hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
The reports published in Siasat on repeated intervals about Abdul Qadeer had a positive impact and people from all walks of life came to know about the sufferings of this victimized man.
Several mosques arranged prayers for his early release and speedy recovery after Friday prayers. Various Mosque committee presidents showed their concern regarding Abdul Quadeer’s well being and demanded his early release, including Mr. Maulana Syed Mohammad Siddiqui Husaini president Masjid Yahiya Pasha Qazipura, Syed Shah Ahmed Ali Taji Sharfi Quadri Khateeb and Imam Masjid Maulvi Mohammad Zaman Khan Shaheed Rooplal Bazar Shalibanda, Mr. Husaini Baghdadi alias Taher, president Arbaun ki Masjid Qazipura, Mr. Mohammad Ali Zafar president Masjid Zamarrud Shalibanda, Alhaj Mohammad Abdulhameed Khan president Masjid Subhan Shalibanda Rooplal Bazar, Syed Saifullah Husaini president Masjid Gonga better known as Masjid Sughran Qazipura.
These mosque committee presidents demanded that the government immediately release Abdu Qadeer on humanitarian grounds.
